The modern Western man living in a world that moves according to the mechanical and mathematical clock symbol. The clock determines their movements and inhibits their actions. The clock time became a natural process to a good that can be measured, bought and sold like soap or raisins. Thus, without the means to accurately control the weather, industrial capitalism could never have developed and could not continue operating, so that the clock is a mechanical element of tyranny in the lives of modern humans more powerful than any individual operator and more than any other widget.
